The Southern chain is sponsoring tailgates and watch parties across the region with their new ‘Word Of Mouth’ program.
Southerners know that wings are an essential part of any Game Day spread. True, we’ll never turn down classic football dip or sheet-pan nachos, but there’s something about this crowd-pleasing appetizer that brings friends together. (You really can’t top Dry-Rubbed Smoked Chicken Wings, after all.)
Founded in New Orleans in 1972, Popeyes—self-proclaimed as “the official wing of watching football”—is making sure that all fans have the chance to experience great chicken wings this season. According to a press release, Popeyes’ new Word Of Mouth program is bringing the fast food chain’s “extensive Wings line-up directly to fans at tailgates, watch parties, and even your own house.”
Perhaps the biggest announcement alongside this new program is the opportunity fans have to win an epic visit from the Popeyes Wing Truck: a food truck fully equipped with Game Day essentials including games, photo moments, music, and a feast of Popeyes Wings and sides. Learn more and enter for a chance to win this free experience at PopeyesOfficialWingTruck.com.
The brand is also teaming up with food delivery service DoorDash for a Nationwide Tailgating Bundle every Saturday and Sunday all season long. Beginning October 5, wing lovers can purchase a special Popeyes bundle exclusively through DoorDash that includes 24-piece wings (bone-in or boneless, up to four flavors) with three regular sides and four dipping sauces at 25% off the in-store price.
Wings are also on wheels with the Popeyes x DoorDash Wing Truck Tour, where the chain will be showing up with fresh, hot wings at some of the biggest college tailgates across the South:
- October 12 – Baton Rouge, LA
- October 19 – Greensboro, NC (HBCU)
- October 26 – Atlanta, Georgia (HBCU)
- November 2 – Tallahassee, Florida (HBCU)
- November 16 – Athens, GA
“At Popeyes, we know the excitement of game day goes beyond the field—it’s also about bringing people together to enjoy great food and great moments. And, as the Official Wing of Watching Football, we’re committed to being a part of every fan’s experience, no matter where they choose to watch,” says Bart LaCount, Chief Marketing Officer at Popeyes.
Whether you’re a Lemon Pepper fan or a loyalist to award-winning Southern barbecue sauces, it’s never been quite so simple to get your Game Day menu situated.
