Hallmark Teams Up With Jennifer Hudson For A Very Special Christmas Song

It’s just 98 days until Christmas and the folks at Hallmark are already in the spirit. While most of us still have the family ornaments and holiday china packed away, Hallmark is eager to kick off the season because this year they’re celebrating 15 years of their annual movie marathon, Countdown to Christmas. To help make this year extra special, Hallmark has teamed up with none other than Jennifer Hudson for a very special Christmas carol. 

To help bring a little joy to the world before the holidays kick off, the EGOT winner (and two-time Grammy Award-winning artist) just announced a brand new song, “Let There Be Joy,” an exuberant and, yes, joyful new tune that will undoubtedly be in heavy rotation this holiday season.

“Music and movies have always been a favorite holiday tradition for me and my family, so I hope this song can become the same tradition for everyone on Santa’s list this year!,” Hudson says in a statement about the new track. “No one does the holidays quite like my friends at Hallmark, so I couldn’t be more thrilled to celebrate the season together.” 

The new song is just the first hint of what’s to come when Hudson releases her first-ever holiday album, The Gift of Love, on October 18th, which just so happens to be the same day that Hallmark Channel officially kicks off its Countdown to Christmas season. To make sure the songs are always stuck in your head, Hudson’s new holiday music will also be used to help soundtrack Hallmark’s holiday programming—maybe even a Lacey Chabert movie to make all our holiday dreams come true.
