Buc-ee’s Is Expanding Its Footprint In This Southern State With Third Location

Buc-ee’s plans to open a third location in the state of Kentucky in the southwestern city of Oak Grove.

Oak Grove is located off of I-24 and right across the border from Clarksville, Tennessee, a city the company had previously eyed for a new store. Buc-ee’s already has travel centers in Kentucky in Richmond and Smiths Grove. The latter happens to be the smallest municipality in the U.S. to feature a Buc-ee’s, according to news station WLKY.

But there’s nothing small about Buc-ee’s, which is known for holding the world record for largest convenience store. The Texas-based chain has been growing and growing, with construction underway in states all over the South and other regions.

Buc-ee’s has developed a strong fan base due to its clean restrooms and unique products like fresh-sliced brisket, kolaches, and endless rows of snacks featuring a bright-eyed beaver. The travel centers also feature hot breakfast sandwiches made to order and homemade fudge. A photo with the Buc-ee’s beaver statue out front is basically mandatory when you visit.

Buc-ee’s has around 50 locations in operation and will be opening its first stores in Mississippi, North Carolina, and Arkansas in the coming months. A store currently under construction in Ocala, Florida, will eventually take the title as the biggest Buc-ee’s with a 80,000-square-foot travel center, 120 gas pumps, and more than 720 parking spots for visitors. The current store to hold that title is in Luling, Texas.
